1. Arming and Disarming

ARM - With user codes and Proximity Tags – With the system in day mode (identified by the display showing the installer’s name and time)….. Enter a valid PIN code (4, 5 or 6 digits) or present a valid proximity tag to the proximity tag reader (illuminated symbol to the right of the screen) Enter the area you wish to arm (A, B, C or D) and press the [YES] key. ‘Please wait arming wireless’ will be displayed as the system wakes any sleeping detectors. Leave the building and make sure the exit door is closed properly when instructed to do so

In some circumstances the system may be configured differently and this will have been discussed with you when handed over; an example of this is where the system may set upon the expiry of the countdown timer. If the system displays a countdown, make sure you leave the building before the timer shown has expired.

DISARMING – with User Codes and Proximity Tags - Enter the premises starting the entry timer, the system will beep to indicate that a countdown is in progress. Enter a valid PIN code (4, 5 or 6 digits) or present a valid proximity tag to the proximity tag reader (illuminated symbol to the right of the screen). The system should become silent and return to the day mode identified by the display showing the installer’s name and time…..

ARM - With Radio Key Fobs – ​To arm via a key fob, press and hold the top button showing “locked padlock” for less than 2 seconds. The key fob LED will start to flash green indicating that the system is starting to arm and will mimic the countdown beeps of the keypad. ‘Please wait arming wireless’ will be displayed on the keypad and the programmed area will begin to arm with a new message shown “Exit via….” or “Setting……[029]” Once armed, the key fob LED will illuminate RED indicating that the system is now armed.

DISARMING - With Radio Key Fobs – ​Enter the premises starting the entry timer, the system will beep to indicate that a countdown is in progress. Press and hold the second button showing “unlocked padlock” for less than 2 seconds. The key fob LED will flash green indicating that the system is no longer armed and it is clear to enter.

2. Arm Fail & Zone Omit

Arm Fail? – The system will fail to arm if detectors are active either as you begin to arm the system or during the setting countdown. A message informing a user that the system is “unable to set” could be displayed if there is a detector picking up movement in areas where there shouldn’t be any activity.

A message asking the user if they wish to “set with a fault” may be shown if there is a problem with the system, electrical supply to the panel or communications path or if a previous alarm condition has occurred and a reset is required. In all cases the cause of the error will clearly be displayed and can be overridden with assistance from the installation company.

A message indicating an alarm condition along with an urgent tone repeated will occur if during the countdown a detector is activated in an area where there shouldn’t be any activity.

This can happen due to employees or family members being in the premises when the user arming the system thought the area was clear or if users head back in to grab a forgotten item rather than exiting the premises.

A thorough check of the indicated area should be carried out and a second attempt to arm the system should be attempted.

Zone Omit – It may be necessary to disable or omit a sensor when setting the system, for example when a room normally protected will be need to be used or occupied whilst the system is armed. If the sensor is active during arming “Set with fault?” will be presented and if allowed by the installation company pressing [YES] will cause the system to arm whilst disabling or omitting that sensor.

That sensor will return to use once the system is disarmed and would need to be omitted each time if required. It is possible to omit a sensor ahead of arming a system by entering the user menu; to do this press the [D] key followed by your user code. Press [NO] until “OMIT INPUTS?” is displayed and press [YES] to enter the omit menu. Enter the input (sensor) number you wish to omit using the number keys or use the arrow keys to scroll through the inputs pressing [YES] to select the input; the display then shows the name of the sensor omitted

3. Alerts and Resets

System Alerts - The system will generate warnings or alerts when there are conditions which must be indicated to the user in line with the relevant security standards for the installation. A message will accompany any alert and this may also cause an audible alert dependant on the systems configuration by the installation company.

Any alert will be clearly indicated such as the example below in which there has been a break in the electrical supply to the security system. All alerts and faults have to be acknowledged by the user of the system, they must be understood and responsibility taken for resetting the alert which will restore the system to normal use.

Some alerts such as tampering with any part of the system will require an Engineer to restore the system after ensuring the operation of the system hasn’t been compromised

3.1 Anti-Code Reset

The system may have been set up for an Anti-Code reset which allows remote engineer reset of the system and is typically used after a confirmed alarm where more than one input is activated and the Police response may have been initiated by the Alarm Receiving Centre 

After an alarm activation has occurred, enter a valid PIN code (4, 5 or 6 digits) or present a valid proximity tag to the proximity tag reader (illuminated symbol to the right of the screen)   

The system will display a remote restore code, a letter “G” followed by 5 numbers

Take note of the number on the screen and contact your Alarm Receiving Centre or contact your on-call security installation company’s engineer 

With the system in day mode (identified by the display showing the installer’s name and time) enter the anti-code number issued by the Alarm Receiving Centre or engineer

The system will confirm that the reset has been successful
